Privacy Policy
Effective Date: July 11th, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how GoalOasis (“GoalOasis,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you access or use the GoalOasis community website located at [community.goaloasis.example] (the “Community”). GoalOasis is a sole proprietorship organized under the laws of the State of California, operated by [Owner Legal Name] doing business as “GoalOasis.”
The GoalOasis mobile application (iOS and Android) is a separate service operated on separate systems and is governed by its own terms and privacy policy. The Community and the mobile application do not share user accounts at this time. This Policy does not apply to the mobile application.
1. Who This Policy Covers
The Community is intended solely for adults. It is not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under the age of 18. By using the Community, you represent that you are at least 18 years old. See Section 10 (Children’s Privacy).
2. Information We Collect
- Information you provide to us. When you register for and use the Community, we collect the information you choose to give us, which may include:
- Account and profile information — your name or display name, username, email address, password, and any profile details you add (such as a bio, avatar, gaming handles, interests, and the goals, milestones, and tasks you create or share).
- Content you submit — posts, comments, messages, replies, feedback, uploads, and other user-generated content you contribute to spaces, feeds, boards, or mentorship interactions within the Community.
- Communications — information you provide when you contact us for support, report content, or otherwise correspond with us.
- Information collected automatically. When you use the Community, we and our analytics provider automatically collect certain technical and usage information, which may include:
- Usage and event data — pages and features viewed, actions taken, session activity, and referring pages, collected through our product analytics provider, PostHog.
- Device and log data — IP address, approximate location derived from IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, and access timestamps.
- Cookies and similar technologies — see Section 4.
- Payment information. The Community is currently provided free of charge, and we do not collect payment or financial account information through the Community at this time. If paid features are introduced in the future, we will update this Policy and provide applicable disclosures before any payment is collected.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and administer your account and authenticate your access to the Community;
- Operate, maintain, and provide the Community’s features, including profiles, feeds, spaces, boards, the Goals→Milestones→Tasks framework, and mentor and peer interactions;
- Display your profile and the content you choose to share to other members or the public, as applicable to the space in which you post;
- Send you transactional and service messages, such as account, security, and notification emails;
- Understand and improve how the Community is used, and develop new features (including through analytics);
- Maintain the safety and integrity of the Community, moderate content, and enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines; and
- Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests.
4. Cookies and Analytics
The Community uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, secure your session, and understand usage. This includes cookies set by the underlying website platform (WordPress) and by our analytics provider (PostHog). Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings; if you disable certain cookies, some features of the Community may not function properly.
5. How We Share Information
We share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Publicly within the Community. Your username, profile, and the content you post are visible to other members and, depending on the space, to the public. Do not post information you wish to keep private.
- Service providers. We share information with vendors that perform services on our behalf — such as website hosting, the community platform and its plugins, analytics (PostHog), and email delivery — who are permitted to use the information only to provide those services to us.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information where we believe it is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to enforce our terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GoalOasis, our members, or others.
- Business transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Community, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Content you have posted publicly may remain visible even after you delete individual items or your account, including where others have quoted or interacted with it. You may request deletion as described in Sections 7 and 8.
7. Your Choices
- You can review and update most profile and account information directly within the Community.
- You can edit or delete content you have posted, subject to the notes on retention above.
- You can adjust email and notification preferences, and unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link provided in those messages.
- You can request that we delete your account by contacting us at [contact@goaloasis.example].
8. Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (“CCPA/CPRA”), gives you the following rights, subject to certain exceptions:
- Right to know — to request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it.
- Right to delete — to request deletion of personal information we collected from you.
- Right to correct — to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Right to opt out — of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. As stated above, we do not sell or share your personal information.
- Right to non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Categories of personal information we collect include identifiers (such as name, username, email, and IP address); internet and network activity information (such as usage and analytics data); and the content you choose to submit. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [contact@goaloasis.example]. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and you may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf.
9. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect the information we hold, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.
10. Children’s Privacy
The Community is intended for adults aged 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a person under 18, we will delete it. If you believe a minor has provided us personal information, please contact us at [contact@goaloasis.example].
11. Third-Party Links
The Community may contain links to third-party websites, services, or content that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we are not responsible for their privacy practices. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party services you visit.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Effective Date” above and post the updated Policy within the Community. Your continued use of the Community after an update takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Policy.
